Ride the ferry to St.Katarina and walk the beautiful grounds.
Take a break on the lounge chairs placed in the rocks along the coast and watch the sailboats in the sparkling water. Tour the luxury hotel lobby and treat yourself to a refreshing drink.

Easy boat ride across from Rovinj, rocky beaches, but organised sunbathing available. Nice place to spend the day

Great place for family or with friended. We celebrated a wedding at the island and stayed at the hotel. Great rooms and a very good breakfast.
No stress from local shops and sellers. Just a chill environment.

After having our holiday postponed twice by Covid we eventually arrived again in Croatia. We had landed at Pula airport during a thunder storm and were picked up and transported to the pick up area for our transfer by boat, about 45 mins in the dark so we were unable to take in any views. the free boat dropped us across to the Island where sadly we were left to walk up the marble steps with heavy cases. we found reception and booked in. It felt like they were not expecting us and we had to find our own way to our room. However, after a good night's sleep and being woken by the church bells of St. Euphemia, we started to enjoy our surroundings. We had booked b&b so we could take our pick of restaurants over in Rovinj of which there are many. The Hotel is comfortable, not overly glamourous like the Grand Park Hotel opposite but it does feel like you have escaped the crowds when walking around the Island. The swimming pool and beach areas are well maintained and the beach bar and restaurant are good. We ate at the hotel one evening. A good choice buffet style and breakfast choices were amazing and very fresh to cater for all nationalities. We found the lift took us to -1 where we could walk down a slope to the jetty avoiding all the steps and after a day out this was a blessing when we arrived back. The room itself was not large but had everything you needed and was serviced every morning. The small balcony had a fold out towel rail to dry towels. Friendly & helpful staff.

Beautiful Island with incredible views of the clear amazingly blue and turquois water and private bays.
Unfortunately it is very hard to get in the water from these bays unless you jump of a cliff but for fit people probably a thrill.
Nice place to take a stroll around the Island with a Hotel facilitiy, bar, restaurant etc. and a fine pebble beach (still would recommend water shoes)
Ferry goes from Rovinj regularly.
Definitely worth a visit!

Took the ferry over, across from old town [ leaves on the half hour], spent the day painting from the island and had the best time with great views of Rovinj! Hotel staff were very nice and accommodating, love this place!

Our favorite beach sport in Rovinj. Quick boat trip from the Delfin pier, and you are there! Plenty of chairs (only 50 kuna/day) and availability of restaurant and bar!

We took the ferry to both of the islands, but Katarina by far was my favorite. It has a low key vibe and nice beaches to enjoy. This was a wonderful place to spend a few hours.

A wonderful place to walk and enjoy the many seagulls on the island nesting and taking care of their chicks. A great place to view the sunset too. You can sun around the island and swim in different areas.

A 5 minute boat trip from Rovinj harbour brings you to Katarina island and hotel. Lovely hotel and a very peaceful place with a walk round the island taking less than 3o minutes, passing lovely quiet coves and meadows of wild flowers. Heaven!

Wanting to book Island Katarina Sept 2021, but need to know if the ferry runs from early morning across to Rovinj, as our return home flight from Pula is 10:30am so would need to get ferry around 7am - thanks

Hallo Elisabeth!

We are visiting Rovinj end of June. When visiting Katarina Island, are visitors allowed to use the pool area? Are there sun beds for hire at any beach there? Thank you!

Hello! Yes, you can visit the pool, but you have to pay for it. Don't worry, it is very cheap as I remember and the sun beds are plenty, but I am not sure if you can take those anywhere you want. Have a safe trip and lots of fun, you will love the place!

I'm interested in knowing the name of the boat company, the cost to go from Rovinj to Katarina Island, and where to catch the boat. Thank you.

I think the name of the boat company is Maistra. The cost is 25kunars, which you pay at the hotel reception, it's Hotel Katarina, the only one on the island, unless the little hut is open down by the quayside. We went at the beginning of May and this hut was closed. The trip only takes 5mins but for more interest go to St. Andrew's and Red Island (they are connected by a causeway) just 15 mins away, and the same price. Boats leave every hour from the quay by the Dolphin statue next to the small boat yard and also from a small quay near the main square in the old town.
