After meeting I took a taxi to visit this area, unfortunatelly I got very dissapointed when I got there at 6pm and everything was closed. Also since there was almost no light I could hardly see the colorful houses.

Quaint area of Guayaquil featuring colourful houses and a number of art galleries. Walking to the top,of the hill affords a 360degree panorama of Guayaquil, and a sneak peak into some of the local houses.

Nice picturesque part of Guayaquil. All the houses have different colors, there are lots of little shops, antiques stores, art galleries, restaurants and bars.

Short hike up (15 mins, aproximately 500 steps, they are labelled) many restaurants, and bars to get cheap drinks. Beautiful spot to watch sunset.

Las Penas is a neighborhood that has many steps and when you get to the top you have a great view of Guayquil. It is worth climbing to the top.

The title says it all: to refurbish is to live, I'm not sure if there's an equivalent in English but it means that when one improves what surrounds us life improves. A universal truth that is evident in what's happened to Guayaquil, and more so...More
