MOUNTAINS AND MORE MOUNTAINS

We only drove through the National Park on our way from Riobamba to Huigra. One of the nicest drives we did in Ecuador.

This national park is not that popular as the others because of it isn't as easily accessible as the Chimborazo nearby. But the place is beautiful with lush green mountains of fields and snow capped mountains.

This is another part of the landscape of Ecuador that we were lucky enough to see as a part of a small group with our own guide.He was a lover of flora and fauna so great experience

It is a hard trecking, depending on your route, gets cold so carry a good windbreaker, the view however is amazing.

The major road from Riobamba to Macas is very controversial since it was built right in the middle of the Sangay National Park, but now that it exists you can take profit of it for an easy visit to the Sangay NP. For those wh have the oportunity to visit it, this is truly an amazing place the easiest way to visit is if you: trek altar climb sangay visit Ozogoche Visit Atillo lakes you can find plenty of info online

I went to Sanjay National Park with the intention of hiking from Candelaria (Hacienda Releche) to the refuge, then up to the crater lake just under the peak of El Altar.
