It would be more helpful if there were signs in English, moreover there were nowhere any information about the history of the fortress

Not very spectaculair. If you see the fort in a distance it look very nice but if you arrive after a ascending walk it is a dissapointment. The walk itselve is bether that the site.

Although I do not like the heights, climb to the highest point of the fortress was worth it. The look from above is beautiful in all directions. That Samuilo Tsar had to be a terrific guy.

We climbed up to Samuel’s Fortress purely for the views of the Old Town and the lake. Whilst there is a lot of history to the stronghold, the views are stunning and on a clear sunny day you can see for miles. Worth the climb...More

It is worth going up to the castle to see the views from the ramparts, which are over the lake, over the town and inland. Entry to the castle cost MKD 60 and once inside you can go up the steps and along the ramparts...More

Must to visit place in Ohrid. You may see there a lot of beautiful views on both Ohrid lake and city. However if you want to get any information on the fortress - you will be disappointed, there is no museum and informational booklets.

Great views over the city and the lake. Fortress has been "reconstructed" and likely doesn't look like the historical citadel. There is no museum, or really much of anything inside.

The views of the lake and surrounds are worth the walk to the fortress. Can be very hot in summer, so make sure you take your water bottle

It is only 60mkd for an adult to enter the fortress which consists of the outer walls which do allow for amazing views of the city but it is a bit of a trek up a hill to the fortress and when its raining there...More
