The property is unique to Roatan. Just off the main road to a private beach area. This area is part of the Roatan Marine Park preserve. The reef system parallels the white sand beach of Sandy Bay The closiest swim to a underwater ecologial paradise teaming with tropical fish and corals. This area is a quiet tranquil area of Roatan without high end hotels and condos but close to the tourist meccas.

My husband and I stayed in Sandy Bay, toward the east end, in an area called Sunnyside. We loved having a view of the sunset from our porch and were excited about the proximity of the reef. The water was warm and shallow, and you could walk about 150 meters off the beach and still be only thigh deep in... More

If you love snorkeling and diving it's hard not to love Sandy Bay and the west coast of the Island or Roatan. Roatan has excellent elevation, lush jungle, crystal clear waters, and reef just off shore. I've been many places in the world but this is our favorite, it keeps us coming back.

So much garbage and sea grass on beach - HOWEVER, if you can get out to the end of one of the many piers, the snorkeling is fantastic! AND, you hardly have any people because everyone is down the road at West End or West Bay. Bottom line, beach is pretty crappy, snorkeling great.

Sandy beach is not a crowded area and you get some fantastic areas that one can easily access and have a great day. Some areas of the beach are for private hotels but some are just open to walk. Best during sunset

The waters are calm and clear for swimming/wading. Lots of action here. Soliciting for beach activities and souvenirs. Avoid on "cruise ship days", I've been told.

We really enjoyed the Sandy Bay Beach because it was quieter than the crowded beaches at West Bay. You can snorkel to the reef or walk a long way along the sand. Just an awesome place.

Great beach. Very clean and amazing water. We had no fear of Zika virus as the island is pretty far offshore. $5 beers and food was good.

This is a great beach for snorkeling and is a must do for everytime we go to Roatán. You can access the area around Anthony's key which provides a parking lot. If you do not have a car, you can take a taxi or one of the local collectivo buses (a fraction of the price). Anthony's is easy to spot,... More

I visited this area of Roatan in 2015. This beach was walking distance from our hotel and surrounded by many resorts, eateries and shopping. It's a great beach to hang out get some sun and swim.
