Good temple, but commercialised
Sep 2021
Must visit temple at the heart of the town. Goddess is said to be too powerful. One good thing is there is not much difference in darshan for 300 Rupee ticket holder and free darshan, except saving about 15 to 30 min. We are a group of 7 people from Chennai, each one had purchased 300 Rs. ticket to go very near to the deity but practically we were about 2 feet nearer to Deity than the free darshan person.

Fantastic arrangements for darshan even during this covid time. Nice parking space is available near the temple and arrangement for queue are there, with arrangement of depositing mobile and shoes, may not be by temple authority but receipts were given and flawless system.
A must visit when you are Vijaywada. Distance is only 5 km from MG Road.
Unfortunately no photography was allowed.

Good temple
Sep 2021 • Solo
Took a bus from city bus stand (City bus stand is just at exit/entry of pandit Nehru bus stand and about 5 -10 minutes walk from railway station).

Frequent buses are there from city bus stand to Kanaka Durga temple. The ticket costs Rs 10 per person and the journey takes about 10 minutes. The bus drops pilgrims at top of hill.

Mobile and luggage is not allowed inside temple. There are mobile keeping center (Rs 5 per mobile) and luggage keeping center (Rs 10 per luggage) just near the place where bus drops piligrims. Footwears can be given at footwear keeping centre for Rs 5 per pair.

No flowers or other puja material is sold at top of hill/place where bus drops piligrims. So if anyone wants to buy flowers or other puja material they must get down at bottom of hill where bus stops to buy these materials. Even if one wants to get down at bottom of hill ticket fare is Rs 10 from city bus stand.

Maybe because it is covid time there was no rush in temple at all. Took free darshan and darshan was over in 10 minutes.

Prasadam of laddu(Rs 15) and pulihora(rs 10) is given at place where bus drops piligrims. Had both and both prasadams were very tasty.

A must visit place while in Vijayawada.

One of the famous landmark of Vijayawada. Had a very blissful morning with morning Darshana of Kanaka Durga Devi and Malleshwaram Swamy. Temple has ensured proper facilities required for devotees. Temple also kept repeating precautions to be taken and steps taken for devotees safety.

A GODESS LIVING FAR AWAY FROM ALL DISTURBANCES
Feb 2021
When I wanted to visit this place, I wanted some information and tried to contact them from the numbers given in the website. It is either not working or switched off. Somehow I reached the foot of the temple. The watchman told me that all lifts are closed down for the past 4 months and so is annadhanam. I and my wife are senior citizens. Since there was no other way we took Rs.300 darshan and climbed all 7 floors by steps. Here it was ok. The darshan was done well. We came down easily. The problem here is the staff does not answer you or guide you properly. Prasdams also were stopped now.
