We were taken here on a Sunday as part of a Kerala tour, it was absolutely manic, as it was a weekend it was packed with Indian tourists as well as other nationalities, I assume it would be much quieter on a weekday. It's a pretty place and a lovely walk but huge queues and long waits deterred from its... More

The journey to the Park was a stunning drive along winding roads with stunning hillside scenery. We parked up and got on a small bus which takes everyone up into the Park as most vehicles are banned. Our fellow passengers were local 6th grade school children and their teachers and made fun travelling companions, lots of great smiles and questions... More

If you go, go very early, when it is still nice and quiet. You do not get the change to see much of the park, you can only do a short 1 mile walk and that's it. How disappointing.

The queue for the bus to take you into the park can be 2 hours +. You can get reservations in Munnar town that let you skip the line. The bus ride is very pretty. Then you walk through the park for 2km approx. it is uphill. The views are nice but no better than any of the roads around... More

The Eravikulam National Park is at a short distance from Munnar. It is situated at a higher altitude and provides a great view from the top. Private vehicles are not allowed inside the park and one needs travel by their shuttle and on foot beyond a point. The endangered Nilgiri Tahir goat is the only animal that can be seen... More
