The landscape is indescribable... We just lost in its peaceful calm and beautiful environment. One can sit for hours .... I don't know how should I describe it... Totally spellbound 😍

The dam is beautiful. It is certainly one of the highlights of Munnar and no visit to this hill station will be complete without visiting Mattupetty Dam. Just wish local businesses like shooting balloons and other shanty shops all around the dam do not spoil the serenity of the area. Boat ride is fun and adventurous but expensive.

This is basically a power house dam built and maintained by Kerala State Electricity board. The water reservoir looks good with the beautiful background. The dam serves as the main road for the vehicles bound to Top Point. There are speed boats which can be availed @Rs.600 a person.

We were taken here as part of a tour but it was a weekend and unfortunately it felt like half of India had also decided to visit, the traffic was horrific but the lake created by the dam and the scenery were beautiful. I'm glad I went but if you can avoid weekends I would recommend it!

nothing special about this spot. It's just a road with an outdated barrage (gates) under the bridge. Can be and should be avoided.

Visited on 29-Dec-16 on the way to top station. The hills surrounding the dam are beatiful. You can spend 10 minutes over here. Don't get down and walk above the dam as it is not that worth.

The last week of December is a very busy time for tourism in Kerala. There was a huge waiting time for speed boats and so we chose to just sit by the reservoir and enjoy the breeze. The speed boat ride looked exciting even though for a short time.

It's a dirty place. Horse riding .... Some shops for food and confectionary is what is offered. Nothing worth a visit
