Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization based on Ko Lanta. LAW's objective is to rehabilitate suffering and sick animals on the island through sterilisation and care.

We are open to visitors everyday from 9am to 5pm and our volunteer staff will happily provide a guided tour of the center every hour, on the hour, between 10am and 4pm. We have lots of friendly dogs who would love a long walk and cats who would like a cuddle! (Please note there is generally no dogwalking between 11-3 as it gets too hot for them!).

The dogs spend their days in grassy outdoor pens, so like everywhere in Thailand, it's best to wear insect/mosquito repellant when visiting.

Our major sponsor is Time For Lime bar, restaurant and cooking school, without their valuable support we would not be here.

The work being done by this team is invaluable to the cats and dogs of Koh Lanta. Whilst sad to see some of these rescued animals the great side is how many have already found new homes or are waiting for a flight to new families. Stop by to cuddle the cats, walk a dog and help support the amazing... More

Lanta Animal Care is such a great place for the local animals. So many dogs have been adopted from this place from people all over the world. They take great care of their guest (dogs and cats). Donations to this place greatly increases more care for local animals in need and more adoptions. Check them out!

This has been a wonderful experience! We came in at around 9 am for a tour but before we actually got to walk a dog in the forest, cause the first tour starts at 10 am. There were so many people who volunteered to do that as well! The place is well maintained and volunteers are doing a great job!... More

My girlfriend wanted to visit to take a dog for a walk and look around. I was sceptical thinking that it wouldn't be the conditions we would like to see the animals being kept in. The shelter separated the dogs into packs which get along and give them a large area for each pack. I was expecting cages and one... More

I must say this is a place that everyone (animal lovers) should visit. They do an amazing job there. I don't understand some people complain about the volunteers did not greet or take care of them. This is a place to rescue and help animals, not a zoo nor fun park. Volunteers are there for there priority mission to help... More

This is an amazing shelter. They clearly look after their animals really well. All volunteers were friendly and had such a love for animals which was obvious by the way the interacted and talked about each dog/cat. It was heartbreaking to hear some of the stories but was also magnificent to see how far they have come thanks to the... More

Must come if you care & love animals! These people are really making their best to help dogs and cats and it reflects on the island. Ko Lanta is the place where we've seen the least amount of street dogs and cats in the last 3 weeks that we've been in Thailand. I learned so much by just being there... More

Really great place to visit in koh lanta, the staff are all very nice. And what they do for the rescued animals is amazing. We left wanting to adopt a dog or two, highly recommend.

Please make some time to visit this center. Lovely people and very informative tour. We would have loved to come back and walk the dogs, but it was our last day on Lanta. Also check the flight list if you can be a flight volunteer for a lucky cat/dog, this whole idea made me so happy. You can find more... More
