Just got to Long Beach. Full of rubbish, horrible to even look at. Thank god our accommodation has a nice pool. Going to explore the rest of the island tomorrow in hope of finding a semi clean beach. Anyone reading this have any recommendations?

Beautiful sandy beach that stretches for miles. Has a few beach restaurants and shops too so you can take a break from the sun!

This is the main beach on the Western shore of Ko Lanta. Wonderful sunset views on the beach and many eateries and hotels.

The beach was virtually empty on a sweltering afternoon during the monsoon season. Looking at the waters, I cannot say I felt tempted to take a dip... the sand was filled with debris, and litter from the bars nearby. A scant handful of tourists wandered...More

Maybe it was because of the low season that there was no upkeep but it seems like all the beaches have the trash from Koh Phi Phi wash up. Would've been beautiful other than the trash.

We stayed at a resort on the beach, it's as gorgeous as it can get. Pick up any resort on this beach.

The beach is full of rubbish and seaweed/mangrove stuff. With almost all of the beach front bars and shops closed up in low season there is no atmosphere and few people, making it feel unwelcoming and a little unsafe. There are numerous areas of stagnant...More

As it was low season the beach wasn't cleaned and not usable. Which was a good thing as it makes you realize how much waste and plastic circulates in our oceans and this is not sustainable anymore. Despite destroying our beautiful nature it will also...More

HI - due to arrive next week and tried to book some trips to koh rok and phiphi. Seems that most of operators are closed from may to oct. hadn't realised when booked and quite disappointed. do some operators still run if the weather looks good on a particular day? Trust me to book in the monsoon season. Is the weather likely to be really bad? Thanks Suzanne

We are here now and there are plenty of places open though it is quiet and some bars/restaurants are closed. The weather is still great, it's rained for two mornings out of 9 but it clears up very quickly and is then super... More

May's Kitchen for good freshly cooked food and great service. For a little bit of Ireland try the Irish Embassy pub for some fun and typical Irish food. Spa a few stores from 7-11 a great massage at reasonable prices.
