Snorkelling here was brilliant there was plenty to see and the water is not deep - the scenery is lovely too.

Unfortunately the coral isn't as plentiful near the beach as I expected. The water was mostly unclear and hardly any fish to see. Compared to koh Lipe where we went 2 years ago, this is like 1:10. Disappointing.

There are at least six resorts along Mae Haad beach, with varying prices ranges. The construction and up grade to the old Island View Cabana, (now Koh Ma resort and Spa) have managed to keep the beach area looking great still. Other hotels/ resorts along...More

It's a long way from the beaches of the south, but its totally worth the drive - rent a moto and head up to Mae Head.

Picturesque, quiet beach. Unfortunately due to weather conditions visibility was not good enough for snorkelling. There are some nice accommodation choices here but very little to do other than sunbathe, swim and eat. The taxi mafia on Ko Phangan make it very expensive to move...More

My friend highly recommended this lovely beach and little island as he had fond memories snorkelling here. The water is various jewelled shades of aquamarine and turquoise. I laid out my beach towel, and practiced yoga as I watched sunbathers frolicking , and listened to...More

the place was littered with trash brought by the sea. A real shame, because there is potential. One side is much nicer than the other.

I was there a couple of weeks ago (end of Sept 2017) and stayed one night, there was not much construction noise, that was noticeable . A lot of the build is done, although still a little more to do. New restaurant area now... More
