Bukhara has never been a center of wood carving but this small mosque (ex madrasa) is a very interesting place where one can see amazing wood carving work of Bukharan artisans. The locals call it "A mosque of 40 columns". But when you count the...More

This was the most beautiful and impressive place I saw in Bukhara. An active mosque, the restoration and atmosphere of this place is really beautiful.

Enjoyed visiting this lovely Friday mosque with its 20 wooden pillars and pool (a reflection gives it 40 pillars). Not far from the Arc Citadel. It is an active mosque.

Peaceful and welcoming holy place, mostly blue tile work and paining inside is breathtaking and the exterior too is wonderful. Avoid prayer times as this is an active mosque

Beautiful Mosque with 20 Wooden Columns situated directly opposite the main entrance to the Ark Fortress / Citadel. Immediately in front of the mosque is a small pool in which the Mosque is beautifully reflected. A must see whilst visiting the Ark / Citadel.
