    Nice climb to.dragon mountain
This ia nice activity if you like walking and hiking. Views from dragon mountain are awesome, however, you need to climb 1000+ steps, please wear walking shoes and hydrate yourself. It is very humid. Also, lot of youngsters comes for photoshot and they take hours to get clicked in various poses. You have to ask to get one or two selfie. Dont wait ..

    Worth the climb
An outstanding experience even for 59+ age group. Be prepared to take it slowly, drink lots of water, have a hat, and enjoy the view as it's worth the climb to the top. Out guide encouraged us to rest along the way. View beautiful. A little trickier coming down but again, take your time.

Breathtaking views reward those who climb 1,000 steps
Fantastic views, 1,000 steps but worth the climb. We went at sunset and it was so beautiful, breathtaking. In the summer, even going at sunset it was a hot, sweaty, strenuous climb up those steps so I don’t recommend doing this in the heat of the day. But definitely go, you won’t regret it.

    Stunning Views, Strenuous Climb
Hang Mua We started climbing the mountain around 6.30 am as we were staying right there. Other tourists started climbing soon after, around 7 am. The stairs make for a tough climb. If the weather is hot as we had in our case, earliest possible time is highly recommended to avoid scorching sun as much possible. The stairs get rougher and tougher as we reach higher. Honestly we were so bogged down that we didn’t actually go the highest point. But we had stunning views from the higher landings. Fitness levels, good knees and legs are a prime requirement.Keep yourself stocked with water & a hand towel. On the way, we saw a closed shop offering drinks, water and ice creams with a few empty chairs, would probably open later.

It's not to be missed and worth every step!
This is an absolute must! I'm in my 60's and thought the stairs might kill me but took it nice and slow and it wasn't really as hard as i thought and was worth every step. We went for sunrise and practically had the place to ourselves, It was breath taking and an absolute feast for the eyes! You don't need to book this with a tour operator. Just get a grab or do as as we did and go by scooter the views on the way are breath taking!

    Beautiful views
Amazing views make the Mua Caves totally worth it but the climb is tough! This is fine if you are in okay health and don’t mind some exercise but do wear sneakers as the steps can be very slippery when rainy. The small path leading up to the dragon is very crowded and a bit dangerous so be careful!

    A pleasant afternoon at Mua
We decided to walk in from Ninh Binh. About 7 ks. Google did warn 'real' ground conditions might be different to map so we walked down some narrow paths greeting locals in their yards and walking down flooded tracks with fish before us. No problems at Mua. Some paths were flooded and restaurants closed. Everyone friendly and 500 steps of varying size to pagoda and dragon. Great views from both. A good experience. I am in my 70s but some fitness is required. Nice guy, whom some had difficulties with, organised a taxi for us for 150k back to Ninh Binh. No tour needed. Good day. Nothing but a good experience.

Different view at every resting spot, wonderfully staggering in many ways!
Easy to reach via moped or bicycle, able to park at one of the local cafes leading up to entrance for a nominal fee...keep your ticket as you have to show when retrieving your bike!! Didn't do the cave, but did climb to the Dragon & well worth it! Take some water & non slip footwear, as steps uneven & varying in depth. Plan to descend before dusk, as dark & uneven in places! Views obviously dependant on weather. Didn't do Tam Coc river cruise which you look down on from the Dragon, preferred to do the superb Trang An one instead.

Come early for some nice views
Nice place to visit in Ninh Binh if you want to see some great views. Come early, there are a lot of people walking up the 500 quite steep steps already 10.30 in the morning. Motorbike parking cost at the area is 10k.

Don't worry there is a beer stop
Yes Google maps is a bit out on this one, follow the tour buses if lost.. However we really enjoyed making it to the top. We are very unfit, but made it ok( it's trickier coming down, than going up). Not too many people the day we went. A small shop half way up for a beer stop. I don't think the caves exist, we couldn't find them. Really it's called Dragon Mountain.500 steps. If arriving on a motorbike, just pay the small parking fee.

Lots of stairs. Quite steep to the dragon lookout. I wouldn’t have been disappointed if I missed this, but since I was there, I’m happy to have completed the walk.

Go early. Avoid the heat and crowds.

Park your motorcycle inside the gate to the left AFTER THE TICKET BOOTH. Scams on the road coming in from locals blocking the street trying to get you to park at their place. Drive on by.

The Mua Cave was one of our highlights in Ninh Binh. We climbed to the viewpoint in the evening hours to see the sunset. Of course there are a lot of tourists, but we still enjoyed the sunset and view a lot. Definitely a must-see in Ninh Binh.

Lovely experience. I think route 3 is the best because it goes through the long cave. Busy but that's expected. Cave was low but lights throughout.

5 starts BUT do not go if you have ANY health issues: mobility/weight/heart, this is a strenuous climb up, also do not try to climb onto Dragon at top, precarious at best!!! Awesome views. Go very first thing in morning or 2.30pm, less crowds. Do NOT park outside of gates, locals will literally stand in front of you to intimidate you to park elsewhere, say No! firmly.

As the other reviews have stated, watch out for all those charging to park. You don't need to park early so can drive right up to the entrance. Entry price was reasonable, we didn't visit the cave but the viewpoint was really amazing. Luckily wasn't too busy and is definitely worth a visit.

Aggressive locals will pressure you heavily to get you to park at their place... we asked the park officials and they told us we needed to pay. The place itself wasn't great, we didn't think it was worth the price. I would recommend avoiding this place, there are much better things to do around

This complex has a rice paddy boardwalk, the cave which has a Buddha in it, another small cave with a tiger statue in it and then a 500 step climb up the side of the mountain. There are two different paths you can chose about three quarters up. The one on the left takes you highest. The steps at the very top are mainly just rocks. It is a beautiful view. We took our time and rested as needed but lots of young people were going up fairly quickly.

It's deceiving to call this place Mua Caves as the highlight is the hike up the 500 steps to the viewpoints. Worth the visit for the views ... Make sure to wear proper footwear!

SO COOL! The scenery is very magnificent, although I can't reach the top because of its long stairs. All in all, it's amazing!
