It was a nice place to visit. Should read before came here or you can ask for a narrator. Rich history and beautiful architecture.

But beware of the motorbike ride offer outside the entrance. The narrator said that there are 2 main place Dinh temple and Le temple. But the locals ride you to about 10 places. They said 10000 VND each motor, however, it turned out a lie. At each destination, you pay them 10000 VND. After the trip is over, you may think it 100000 VND in total. The answer is no. You pay them 110000 VND (10000 VND at the beginning) or more depend on they take picture of you or not.

We had a visit to the place on our day trip to Ninh Binh. We learned a lot about the history of this ancient royal palace. The architecture is so amazing as well. Very interesting place to see

We arrived around 10am at the Hoa Lu Temples. It was starting to get busy but everything is well spread out. There was even a local school getting a class photo out front. Super Cute! I included a picture of the map of the grounds.

It is a beautiful & well maintained area with a lot of history. It is surrounded by high limestone mountains which help hide them from potential invaders. It is one of the ancient capital Cities of Vietnam that dates back to the 11th century to honour the Emperor Ding Tien Hoang, Queen Xuong Ban Nga & their sons.

We were there for about an hour and 15mins. Personally, I felt rushed. I think 2 hours would be a good amount of time to not feel rushed. Please remember to dress respectfully. Shoulders, stomaches and knees must be covered

Unfortunately most of the area was closed due to the Coronavirus outbreak but what we were able to see and the information given to us by our guide gave us an insight into the history and what was there.

We called in here, slightly 'templed out' after a month in SE Asia, but found these temples more interesting than we'd envisaged. They benefit from a nice location, approached over a river and surrounded by mountains.

I wouldn't make a special trip here but, as part of a general visit to the Nimh Bình region, it certainly has a part to play.

Such peaceful temples, once the citadel of power in the 10th and 11th centuries, amid the lap of nature will only soothe you. Although there are plenty of guides who might seem disturb you but without them we would not have known the history.

My guide was helpful by explaining the history of the two dynasties and their historic significance. Lots of vendors, but they are avoidable. Water buffalo wandered about the area. Nice experience.

Lovely place to visit and guide can explain to you the history and significance of these temples. Worth coming here if you are around Hanoi and looking for a day-long trip. Interesting stories about Dinh and Le dynasties as well.
