Magnificent views. It was a long drive from Ubud - I think 2 hours. it was. Our first day in Bali so we were very excited to see the volcano albeit in the distance. it's lovely and cool from the view point. There is an entrance fee to be paid as you do for all attractions in Bali.

The area of north-eastern Bali at the Mount Batur caldera, and which encompasses Penelokan, Toya Bungkah, Batur, Kedisan, Abung, Songan and Kintamani villages, is known widely as just Kintamani. Kintamani, Batur and Penelokan villages sit on the rim of the huge Batur caldera about 1,500m above sea level, and offer dramatic views of the active volcano Mount Batur and serene... More

The ride from Ubud to Kintamani is approx 45 minutes.. the route passes via the rice fields ...Once you reach to the highlands, you get very nice views of mountains and the lake which provides beautiful background for great photos.. There are not many options to eat.. we spent about an hour before we headed back.

Awesome view of Mt Batur. Our sunrise trek got cancelled due to Galungan Day but we still wanted to see the volcano. She is a beauty. What ever you do, in one way or another you should visit My Batur

We hired a day long cab service from ubud and drove to more than an hour to reach Kintamani highlands. We basically just ate a mediocre and over priced lunch at a cafe which offered amazing scenery and the trip was still worth doing. The view has two volcano, a lake and cloud shadows and its magnificent. The Kintamani trip... More
