We was contacted Jero via his WhatsApp at +6281904082208 a day before ahead. Responsive reply and make a reservation very easy. We did this during our stay in Alaya Ubud and getting up at 02.00am was well worth it. As Jero offered Private tour, we...More

Amazing climb to the top where we witnessed a wonderful sun rise that reavealed a fantastic surrounding formed by the vulcano. Tough climb, but definitively worth it.

We really couldn’t face the thought of a 2am rise to watch a sunrise so we hired a driver and left Ubud at 6am. He organised for a guide who was waiting for us when we arrived at the car park. We had been warned...More

We are currently living in Jakarta and my understanding is that Mount Batur is still open to trekking. The best thing to do would be to contact one of the many tour agencies that organise treks for up to date information.

Yes- but for safety reason, it's good to go with a tour guide. But if you have experience with trekking, you should be fine. We went with a guide, but there were people who went on their own.

Mt Batur Regular trip; official price for a guide maximum for five guests 5 cost you Rp 400.000, Government tax Rp 100.000/pax. If you paid more than that you are cheated.
