Centuries old banyan tree. Stood solidly through the passing of time. I can feel the serenity around the trees. Teach us to be strong in life no matter what challenges we faced. I am so glad to visit in person.

The Banyan Tree Temple sounds great on paper, but in real, is a very small structure, not really made just within Banyan trees. The tiny little garden behind the temple is pretty and quaint, with a bit of an Alice in Wonderland feel. If you're around there, pop by, but making a trip out to see it is probably not... More

Pros: 1. Just an old tree with over 200 hundreds years and the temple right inside of it 2. Can see the small stalls next to it if you like to take local village photos Cons: 1. Nothing much to see on this temple

If you've never been to a stilt village, this is a nice, prosperous one and partially inhabited by commuters who prefer the 10 minute boat ride to Bintan to the long drive. You should do the same and combine it with a trip to the snake river temple. Then have the boat leave you at the dock for Penyengat Island... More

I was expecting this temple to be well maintained, but sadly that was not the case. Though this temple is around 200 year, the place is left as is. At first glance you will not even know that here is a temple which exist. I would certainly not recommend,

A fun boat ride from Tanjung Pinang, and the fascinating town of Senggarang built on stilts, made the trip to this interesting tree temple well worth while. The Vihara Dharma Sasana Buddhist temple, about 500m west along the road from the temple, should also be included in the visit.
