Once you have got your head around the fact that there is not much to do in Tanjung Pinang, it is a blessing to find Penyengat. There three uniqueness, first you can reached the whole island only by walking during the walking you will find malay heritage from such as ancient pool for the queen, tomb of the king Raja Ali Haji well known as an author of couplet (Gurindam XII). As lovers of history, our family had a great time on Pulau Penyengat, exploring this seat of Bugis culture. Penyengat Island is an island which rich in historical value. Points of origin Indonesian and Malay literature began. There is a sultan's palace and tomb of the Malay sultans.

For those who are historial inclined, this place is a must. Getting around in a guided tour on a trike. Get to visit the underground well.

Used motor bike to go around this small island. Visiting mosque, cemetery, and new traditional house. 1 time visit was enough .

Pros: 1. Heritage island with friendly villagers 2. It took less than 2 hours to finish entire island trek Cons: 1. English isn't so workable at here
