Around 30 food stalls selling seafood, satay, carrot cakes, Fried Kwetiau etc in the evening. Nothing special except you can have options to eat in one place

Foodwise ,this place offers many choices of delicious & affordable street hawker foods. The only downside is the area which total outdoor with no tent on the dining area and since it is located at the housing area, the place is so crowded with people and motorcycle. Parking can be like hell here 😅

Many variant of food to choose. Half of them is chinese food. Some seller have a lot people queue and seems delicious. You can walk surround the area for old chinese houses.

Varieties of good available but the food vendors have their own 'law'. You are free to sit anywhere you want but you need to order from the vendor whose tables and chairs belong to them.

The other open air market - Ramba Jaya - is preferred. Newer and grilled fish are nicer

This place reminds me of our Street Food in the 70 at Chinatown, Bugis and Orchard Rd open car park as well as those under the Toa Payoh flyover. Liked the ambiance as it brought back memories. Also, like some food like the Bbq fish, sotong, cheng tng, fried kway teow, chye tow kueh, fish soup, braised trotter, duck & pork. Avoid the satay which is too tough for us. Most speak Teochew and price of food reasonable.

Who doest know Akau? Old people or new people that come to this City usually go to Akau for Jumbo fried noodles, or just drink Jossu (Ex*rajoss with Susu), or they just come to have fun with friends.

Visited Akau Potong Lembu recently, I particularly loved the Goreng Pisang Keju - yummy 😋! (Note: it tasted better @ APL, as compared to the one at Rimba Jaya - that's my take, but the latter is cleaner & more organised). I also tried the Fish Soup, it's tasty (not bad), but the fried kway teow & otak-otak was a disappointment!

Food prices are similar to Hawker Centre in SG, if not slightly cheaper by a few cents. However, hygiene level is far below standard. The place is disorganised, smoky, dirty & smelly... disturbance by an old lady beggar whilst eating. Drinks stall owner pestered us to place order, but, we brought own drinks. We were informed not allowed to seat near her stall, if without placing an order from her!! That's outrageously ridiculous - hooligan behaviour!!!
