Such an underrated museum! Various galleries to see and the highlight was the communist tunnel. Highly recommended! I'm surprised entry is free, they should charge at least RM5 or something because it really deserves to be well maintained.

Not expecting very much about the place, but it is really worth a visit. All the army old trucks, planes, tanks etc are all exhibited. Quite informative and a lot of exhibits, there even have a hanging bridge at the small reserve jungle. What surprised me was, they build an underground tunnel, that depict how the CPM lives during the war. Should visit with family.

I was particularly keen to visit this museum having worked with the malaysian military in the past.
Its in a number of typical military blocks next to the military training school. There is no charge for entry.
There were also outside exhibits of vehicles and military equipment.
The various rooms with displays were air conditioned.
My major comment is that many display explanations were only in bahasa malaysia. There was no english translation in many cases.
This is a major drawback for overseas visitors
There is a small cafe area but it was closed during my visit.

Never expected a free entrance museum that displaying so wide rage of artifacts. From bullets, guns to tanks, helicopter & fighter jets. Frankly, i didn't browse all. basically covered the outdoor & some of the indoor items.
It is located on a small hilltop. Weather is good. Blue sky & breezing wind.

Quick up date to the museum. Wanted to visit the museum and went at around 1400 on July 4, 2020. Sadly, the museum was closed. Don’t know if this is a one off but it was unfortunate. We live in Kuala Lumpur, so we will be back next time. Please call ahead to not be disappointed. Cheers all!

A place that must be appreciated by all Malaysians. The information / exhibition about Malaysian's army that majority of us won't even bother to think. The layout is very efficient & neatly organized that you won't miss a thing. Expect to walk around the compound for about 1.5 to 2 hours to cover everything. It is free of charge. Personally I think the management should charge a bit - at least there's a fund for the maintenance.

Loads of stuff to see and there’s even a hanging bridge. Plenty of Instagramable sites to take photos with. Well-marked out path (footprints) that tells you where to go next, which means you won’t need a guide. Really excellent place to visit. Well done, Tentera Darat Malaysia!

It was Sunday when we came to the museum. What attracted us a lot was the arrangement of army vehicles at the museum; trains, jet fighter, tankers, cannons and whatsoever means of transports and shooting machines. There were several old building that were actually renovated and be filled with galore of information. If you follow the actual sequence of building what to enter first and what is last, you will actually following the interesting tracks of Tanah Melayu's history. The information includes the pre WWII until how Malaysia gets their independence finally. Everything you would find in the text books, could be find here. Another part of the museum that I found quite interesting though a bit spooky, was the tunnel channel relating to the history how the Parti Komunis Malaya (PKM) actually living in it and there you can find Chin Peng and its colony. The best part of all, the admission is FREE!! However, do donate some money for the maintenance of the place. It's part of our today's life after all.

Worth to visit for kids with variety of chariot displaying there. Stop by there for half an hour before heading to the beach is a good idea.

Do i need any special document to enter the museum?
Do they allow us to take photos everywhere?
How long will it take to see the whole place ?
Written 19 August 2017
You can simply enter the museum. No security guard to stop you, no registration book to sign. No checking for your passport or any documents.
You can take photos anywhere you like. Nobody will stop you.
If you are passionate in history, you will need minimum 3 hours reading all the descriptions plus the photo taking session.
