This is a beautiful, wooden, open plan house, very colonial. It is truly lovely, as is the English Tea Room adjacent where we had nice proper orange juice, tea and lovely scones.

A lovely walk up the hill from the town to this beautifully maintained colonial house, with a wonderful selection of photos & information about Agnes & her husband.

This place is worth a visit if you are in Sandakan. It only takes an hour to look around and is easily accessible by car or taxi. A relic from a by-gone age of British colonial rule but well kept and authentic. After a look...More

I was not familiar with this author. Interesting life. Cool house. Worth a look. I think I need to read her books.

A house build up on the hilltop with old style furniture, memorabilia and photos , quite well maintain. We have our high tea just beside the building, English Tea House , enjoy the cosy, windy , relax under the yum yum tree

Interesting insight into the life of that house not only with Agnes Keith but other people after them. Not very big but worth a visit if in the area.

Nice if you want something to fill the time but other than that just another old house. Wouldnt recommend paying to go in there.

I came here for lunch one day and had a really nice time. The tea set was lovely if a little over-priced. There are other meal options as well if you want something a little more substantial. I would definitely go back.

We visited this home today and learnt a lot about the history of Sandakan and the life of the author Agnes Newton Keith. Definitely worth a visit and then have a meal at the English Teahouse next door.

I had heard so much about Agnes Keith from the time I first arrived in Sandakan, so when I came past whilst walking the Sandakan Heritage Trail, it was a must visit. A well preserved old colonial type house, now a nice museum. Learn about...More
