We rented bikes from our hotel and pedaled down to Punta Jesus Maria. The bike ride is fine especially through the tree covered sandy side road. It's a lovely little place with pretty views and you can get a picture so that it looks like you're walking on water. A nice diversion and totally worth the time and effort.

This little peninsula offers beautiful views of Ometepe volcanos, and of the lake - especially when the sun is setting. Easily accessible from Moyogalpa by bike and cheap to enter, it is well worth taking a visit! There is also a little cafe there if you want to stay for longer

Super cool sandbar going perpendicular from the shore out into the lake. It functions as a beach and is also a really great walking and photo opportunity if not crowded. Absolutely worth a visit.

So recognising that this narrow spit of land, caused by water currents is actually quite amazing, however, this is one phenomenon, that could be seen in only a few minutes. Do not plan your whole day around this attraction.

If you are looking for a place to have a sunset beach picnic then look no further! You've found it! The natural sandbar extends way off shore which makes for a nice walk in black sand when the water is low. Even high water (rainy season) doesn't effect the views!

For some silly reason, I left my wide angle lens behind that day. This is *the* place to be if you want a great image of both volcanos in one picture... and have a wide angle lens. We didn't use the beach for any swimming or relaxing, were just hoping for the view, and it was worth the $1 admission!

We were expecting a long narrow sand strip in the middle of the lake but the lake was to high so there was maybe 20 meters of this strip so i guess it loses from the effect, could be amazing though if it was 1 km as it should.

One of my "must seen" places in ometepe! Its amazing how this two volcanos connect through a thin line of sand 👌🏻 my advice is... Come when before or after summer cuz the lake tends to dry up.
