This is a lovely way to start an evening, watching traditional Kandyan dance. The dancers wore colourful costumes and were very entertaining. A thoroughly enjoyable cultural display for a small price (entrance cost was Rs500)

I'd say worth the 500 rp. cover yourself in mosquito repellent since the building is more or less open to birds and anything else flying around. Be there early enough to grab a good seat, although you still see everything from the back.

Nothing spectacular. It is a truly average show. Mostly to make money for the cultural association. Do not sit on the first row. The dancers will ask for money after performance

Great show with colourful costumes and lively music very cultural. I was especially captivated by the cultural costumes the dancers wore. There is also a firewalk demonstration after the concert.

5pm. But at that time it is a scramble to get good seating - no reserved seating exists. Reach about 15 to 30 minutes early. The duration is about an hour including a Fire dance which is outside the performance hall.

You buy tickets at the entrance of the Red Cross Hall where the performances are held. I would buy tickets early to get good seats. From the Temple of the Tooth, you walk along the lake away from the downtown/shopping/ area... More
