Very interesting but the grounds needs some money spent. A bit rough around the edges. Watch out for the monkeys. Don't take any food. You can get a blessing for a small offering which is nice.

We went to the Mulgirigala Temple in May 2017. Being the low season we were the only ones there! Upon parking our tuk tuk we were immediately approached to pay a parking ticket although we were parked on the road. Then to buy lotus flowers....More

It's an ancient temple but not well kept, lots of monkeys around and the sleeping Buddha is beautiful.

There are quite a few steps to get to the top of the temple but you get rewarded with a really amazing view ( there is a small path that leads behind the temple to a great viewpoint) We we're almost the only foreigners there...More

This ancient and historical temple is a must for tourists. It is built into a massive rock with several rows of steps to take visitors and devotees to the place of worship. Modest dress and no footwear.

Yes,You can get a walasmulla bus from tangalle main bus stand. get down from mulgirigala junction. about 500M from junction to mulgirigala temple...

About 600, some of them are more high but it's OK!you must not hurry and it's better to go early in the morning=few people and not so hot!
