This is an incredibly moving visit. The temple is on multiple levels, with many shrines to Buddha. All very accessible but still (from a totally secular perspective) interesting, notable and fascinating! Great monkeys and the most incredible views from the top. Worth the 600+ step...More

This place is really amazing! The paintings are really impressive and the landscape is beautiful! There are some steps but nothing too hard. Lots of monkeys and around 5/6pm we saw the local people praying which was also something beautiful. I recommend this visit!!

The temples are really worth a visit. The landscape is incredible with lots of rocks, palm trees, lush forests. Climbing up, you have an amazing view. The temples have gorgeous murals. We went there around 5/6 in the evening so we could see the monks...More

The spot is worth a visit to see this ancient buddhist place of worship built into a massive rock. A few steps to climb. A lot of art and sculpture to see. No shoes and respectfully dressed

We have decided to go for a trip at the last minute and left Tangalle at 5pm. Arriving to the temple at 5:30pm was a bit late but when we hiked up the stairs, the last visitors were leaving which left us the temple for...More

We spent a couple of hours here. Fantastic place. No problem getting up on the top of the rock even though the 500 steps. The view is amazing.

Worth the 500 steps. Make sure you see the view from the rock at the top. Watch out for monkeys. Beautiful temple. And don't be fooled. You don't need a guide.

This is a monastic site with temples carved out of a rock outcrop. The climb to the top comprises about 400 steep steps with little reward at the end. It appears to be a little neglected and the view at the top is partly blocked...More
