If you are here just to see the train station, I would highly tell you not to waste your time. It is just a tiny train station, that's all. But if you are looking for good traditional food, here might be the place. My guide recommended us this place called 峰 古早味. We loved it, the food was simple but... More

Is quite "commericalised" whereby all stalls selling almost the same products Banana handmade roll which I try quite nice. Bought 3 boxes back. Nothing much to walk around so I settled down for a bowl of beef noodles soup & cold century egg which surprise me as taste quite awesome. The stall name is 湘集Dumpling & Beef Noodles Stall. Just... Very nice place to visit, with many old shops offering flavors of the locality. The old street evoke the old charms of yesteryear, as the old town still exists seemingly unchanged. We had a short time here but managed to visit Jiji train station. One of the many attractions of Jiji old Street, the wooden facade of JiJi train station... More

Our guide-driver brought us here, en-route to Sun Moon Lake. We rented a bicycle for our family of 5 for NTD500 and we cycled to the various recommended places of interest. Starting from Jiji Train Station (集集火车站), we cycled to Ming Xin Shu Yuan (明新书院), Wu Chang Gong (武昌宫) and Da Zhang Shu (大樟树). We were given a map to... More

If you have Checheng station on your tour itinerary, then, I suggest to take the train from here to get there. The kids enjoy train rides. This place that was affected by the 1999 JiJi earthquake (which was one of Taiwan's biggest) there are many areas where the mark of this earthquake can be seen. As you drive towards Jiji,... More

Jiji is a small town and the life here is unsophisticated. The best method to travel around Jiji is by a bicycle. Take a photo of the map of the town and then you can enjoy a relaxing day here. You can see a diversity of attractions, e.g. souvenir shops near the train station, cultivated land, temples, vendor's stalls selling... More

We were taken here as part of our grand tour of Taiwan and it did give us an idea of life in a smaller town. The big draw is the bananas ... seems you can have anything you can think of relating to bananas ... ice cream was good. Then the amazing falling down temple which was left as a... More

This small town is famous for its banana production, egg roll, train station and cycling activities. You can get a cycling map from the visitor centre and rent a bicycle from any of the shops around. There is a designated area for cycling. Thus it is safe from bigger vehicles on the road. When I was there, the sun was... More

Loved the old little train station. There's a bubble tea shop next to it that sold bubble tea you could take away in a kitty bottle that was really cute! Great place to get off and stretch your legs.
