We went today, Dec 1st, 2015. If you can negotiate the Romancing the Stone 'esq type bridge you'll find it is currently closed so don't let anyone tell you it is. When it does open I doubt they'll have much in there. Cool leaf cutter ants on the trail though.

The place is beautiful, especially the mangrove when you arrive by boat, and the trees surrounding the property, which I took the liberty to explore, while waiting for our boater to return, but instead of the so many butterfly species announced in travel guides, you can see barely 5 or 6, and the place really looks neglected. Keep your 5$... More

Don't waste your money. There is maybe 3-4 butterflies to see. The overall condition of the place is very poor and it costs $5 to enter a tiny dome with a few butterflies.

A 5 minute boat ride from Bocas town further along the island, but not possibel to get there by road or path, the Butterfy garden is small, but you can walk into the 'tent' itself among the butteflies. Sit and watch them fly about and rest. Great for taking photographs. The life history of butterflies can also be followed, and... More

Awesome! Come support a local spot. Quiet & feels like you're in the middle of the jungle & it's just a short stroll from Bocas marina. Louis, the owner & Antonio showed us around & explained all the phases of butterflies. They also have a terrarium w/ frogs. And we also spotted a sloth! Fabulous photo opportunity.

As others have said, you need to take a water taxi here (cost us $2 each both ways = $8 total) then $5 each to get in. There's a butterfly enclosure which is nice to have them flying around you, but there are only really 2 species and not a huge amount of them. Then there is a tank of... More

Bocas Butterfly Garden is an early morning adventure on a sunny day. The Garden is located by the Bocas Marina, a 5 minute water taxi from town. You will be greeted and taken on a tour to experience the many stages and plant life that butterflies depend on to survive and populate. A great adventure for individuals or families. Ask... More

Don't expect much but this was a sweet little butterfly farm and the guy working there showed us some caterpillars and some frogs. Nice way to while away a few hours! The butterflies were really beautiful and we had the whole place to ourselves. FYI - you need to take a water taxi there and best to call and check... More
