Although it was forecast rainy, my family chose this site for a day trip. Never having taken a cavern tour, I didn't know what to expect. I was delightfully surprised. Desoto Caverns was very easy to find. It opened at 1:00 on Sunday which was a little inconvenient, but still worked for us. We did the cave tour first. It... More

Great attraction and great people. The cavern has a rich history that has been dated back at least 2,000 years. Native Americans viewed the cavern as the "womb" of the Creek Nation. It was used in the Civil War by Confederate troops to mine nitrates for the manufacture of gunpowder. There are some fun and creative rides/activities for kids, including... More

The Environmental Club at my school took a group of 26 middle school students, 7 parents, 3 teachers to DeSoto Caverns yesterday. Everyone enjoyed it immensely. All of the staff there were extremely kind and accommodating. The Caverns, themselves are very impressive and the guided tour is very well done. The Park grounds are very well kept and the gift... My son and I visited the DeSoto Caverns Family Fun Park as a part of the Cub Scouts/Boys Scouts trip. We spent the night inside the cave, which was a totally awesome experience. All of the kids did enjoy getting to play many of the entertainment experiences. However, as an adult I must say I was turned off that everything... More

I was very impressed with this place. Although we only went through the caverns, it was well worth it. They were also plenty of attractions for children to so such as rides and mazes. Love was our guide for the cavern and we really enjoyed the stories and her knowledge of the cavern. We will go back!

We only went for the cavern tour this time and it was amazing. Our tour guide, Love, was great and made it very interesting. The light show was beautiful and inspiring. The nature aspect of it was something I have never seen here in Alabama before. We will be going back.

I really appreciate a good cave tour, and was somewhat disappointed here. Basically, DeSoto Caverns is one huge room, which is impressive due to its size, but doesn't quite justify the steep price of admission. The "laser light show" didn't help, but at least they're trying to make it more interesting.

Read lots of reviews about this place before I went. It is very true about the religious aspect. But I don't think it's "shoved down your throat". The owner was actually on site the day we went and was very friendly and approachable. He talked to us and asked our opinions. It was a cold day so it was not... More

DeSoto Fun Park is for children of all ages. It was not crowded at all and one person runs several activities. Didn't have to wait long for service. The little train ride was a hit for my 3 year old. The cave tour was very nice and had a laser light show. We will return in the future.
