Definitely worth a visit. More representational art than one normally finds in a modern art gallery. Particularly enjoyed works by Thomas Deniell, Antonio Trinidade and Amrita Sher-Gil.

Located near India gate, this is a treasure cove for the art lovers who will rejoice the vast collection of paintings, artefacts being kept at the museum. Only regret is that photography is not allowed at the museum . There are no entry charges for entry to the museum.

A must visit for travellers visting Delhi. The Museum has an impressive collection of contemporary Indian artists , including a very substantian body of work by the Indo-Hungarian artist Amrita Sher Gil. It is also the home for international artists whose works are showcased here on a regular basis.

There was a lot of art here. The art done by Western artists was easier for me to understand, but it was good to try to get a feel for the different periods of Indian art.

The museum is very large and has very weird and wonderful things in it. The best bits are by no means very modern. It also houses miniatures of the 10th century. The 3rd and 4th floors of the New building have really very nice paintings and are well worth seeing although also date from late 19th century to the mid... More

A great place to feel inspired and bring out the inner creativity. To properly explore all the exhibit would take a full day, but is worth the effort. Paintings by Thomas Daniell are worth special mention.
