This tomb, built in 1570, is of particular cultural significance as it was the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent. It inspired several major architectural innovations, culminating in the construction of the Taj Mahal and many other Mughal architecture and garden complexes in India.

Our tour guide has given an interesting fact about it. It was somewhat a similar design as the Taj Mahal because it was Shah Jahan's great great grandfather who built this so this was the inspiration design of the Taj.

The is a glorious monument built to honour Emperor Humayun by his wife. Both the monument and gardens are massive, peaceful and display wonderful architecture. Recommend.

Humayun's tomb has been renovated, and now the water flows in little streams between the gardens. One can visualize the splendor of the tomb in the Mughal times. The tomb is an interesting sight.

Not so interesting place of visit. Since its a tomb it houses the grave of Humayun and host of other emperors and their families. Other than its architectural excellence, nothing much to see here.

No lockers that I saw. Best to hire a cab. Best way to get around. My thoughts are that time is pushing it.
