Fantastic site to visit - unimaginable architechture, great theme show, diaorama and I max presentation. If any tourist, irresepctive of his religion or creed, has half a day to spare, this is a must see. It is one man's creation in five years totally with voluntary support. A monument which makes every indian proud!

Part of our Delhi tour included the Akshardham temple and it was a real highlight. The architecture is breathtaking inside and out. We were happy to have a private car though, since you can't bring anything inside! Just had to take mental pictures!

I have seen temples throughout Europe and Asia. This is, by far, the most amazing. The structure is beautiful inside and out. Carved by 7,000 sculptors out of pink sandstone and white marble

Leave your phones and camera in car.....unless you want to store them on an open shelf area where anyone can take. Temple was lovely just a bit more for viewing than actually participating in any service or religious conduct. Think more Disney than spiritual.

One of the most beautiful temples I have ever been to. Unfortunately, I will not be sharing the experience with my friends and family at home, because they are diligent about not allowing phones and cameras inside the property to take pictures. Very unfortunate because...More

I can't honestly remember, as we went through so many metal detectors in India. They almost always went off but security didn't seemed bothered, I guess as we didn't fit the profile of whoever they are concerned about!

No. No electronic items or leather items are allowed inside the temple campus. If you have those with you, the guards at the entrance will take it out and ask you to deposit it in the lockers (paid).
