Calm place and well maintained. Leaving out footwear at the counter was a bit tiring experience and given that it is quite hot there. But otherwise a good 30 minutes can be spent here.

This is one real place to visit to know the traditions of Tibetans and Buddism. The gigantic statues and worship idols and colorful art work attracts millions of visitors to this monastery every year.

This place is a must go for those with interest in religious as well as historical places. The statues are amazing and people interested in buying Tibetan trinkets will have a great shopping experience too.

Well worth a detour to see this Tibetan settlement planted in the heart of southern India. Interesting to wonder around and quietly view the temples and reflect on these people who have set up there temples here so far from home.

This is worth visiting a place. I recommend you stay back for at least half a day and venture into different monasteries around. If you are a momo lover, there are few restaurants run by monks.

The trip was not intended, as we are actually planning to visit tala cauvery. On way the driver tipped us to visit this tibetan monastery. Accidentally when we arrived it was annual graduation day for the juniors. And we witnessed long pipes blowing, big drums played, eagerly the parents watching the ceremony. Bliss to watch! Felt like transcendent to shaolin... More

Lat may I visited RUMTEK Monastry, hence I had interest to visit the place. Well, Namdroling Nyingmapa Monastery or also known GOLDEN TEMPLE(of karnataka, not of punjab) is worth visiting. The 3 statues of Buddha and the prayers (we were lucky enough to be present at that time) by monk is fantastic. Must visit

Thank saimee
