When I visit the gate, it was very crowded because they restricted the area in front of the gate for a ceremony. nevertheless, I got a chance to take some photos. Surroundings need to be reorganised. You can go there and take some photos and leave. It would be better if you can sit in a clean cafe and spend... More

This place is full of touts selling photos of you and the Gateway or the Taj. That said we had a collection of our group done and they were quite good. The site itself is underwhelming. The arch is not that old nor is it very attractive. It is not special enough to make a detour there but if you... More

Iconic though it may be, the Gateway of India is somewhat out of place and out of time in today's Mumbai. Despite the classic colonial structure, and a nice backdrop from a number of angles, this monument looks very dated and contrasts with the rather scuzzier adjoining boat activity and traffic which reflect modern reality. That said, there are some... More

I walked 2km through the center of old Mumbai Fort passing Horniman Circle Garden, St. Thomas Cathedral, old Town Hall, Navy Fortress, National Gallery Of Modern Art, and other classic British buildings ending at the model of Paris's Arc de Triomphe. It was at the active adjacent port, I picked up the ferry to UNESCO's Elephante Island. A grand spot... More

I had a wonderful visit at this place as it is one of the monuments of india. We really annoyed a lot visiting here as it was really pleasant and kind soothing experience. I really insist everyone to pay a visit at once.

A must in any tourists itenary, Gate of India embodies the old world charm of South Bombay. Amazing heritage buildings in the whole of South Bombay starting with VT, TOI HQ, and many others culminating in the Gateway of India. The Taj Mahal hotel adds to the grandeur of the place but restrictive security measures have robbed some of the... More

You can walk around the coast and see thousands of pigeons fly. The weather is mostly moderate. Must visit when in Bangalore.

Look at this iconic monument from Taj or vice-versa , it has been engraved with the names of Martyrs , take a photo worth 30 Rs. In front of this beauty. Also go to Elephanta caves for 500 Rupees !

Representing a link to its colonial past, this is a must-see destination in Mumbai but is otherwise rather uninteresting unless you also take the opportunity to people watch or catch a ferry to Elephanta island, which I strongly recommend.
