A National park over 500 square kilometers in the middle of Mumbai city. A lush green tropical rainforest. A jungle infested with deer, wild boar, monkeys, birds and fish and actual LEOPARDS. All can be sighted with time and patience. Old Buddhist caves on top of a hill, preserved pristinely. During the monsoons this place is overrun by small streams... More

This is one place where you can walk and run on a stretch of 7 km without being interrupted, early morning. On Sundays, avoid taking your car as there is no parking available inside the park. It is even possible to trek through a couple of routes provided you know the way.

This is a very good place to get away from the buzz of the city. A long walk/drive leads to the very old Kanheri Caves. Good historical place. Comparatively on the cleaner side. Also has safaris. Good place for early morning jogging. Don't visit during the Noon to avoid the scorching sun.
