Kalighat Kali temple is ancient and every new visitor has a desire to visit this place and offer his prayers but the local authorities seems to have not any control and the visitors has to face a lot of hardship to have glimpse of Maa Kali.

Very old place. It has a kali mata temple. Please be careful of pickpocketing and for pandas. Nice place to visit and for puja. Visit during saturday muat be avoided because it attracts huge crowd on that day.

this is one of the 51 shaktipeeth of india and the most visited temple in west bengal .it is excellent temple connected with all sorts of transportation be it a bus taxi or metro. a good scared place with lots of shops for shoppers delight

This temple is no doubt so popular with local people and tourist however it is not maintained well inside the temple and the road approaching the temple is full of encroachment.The pandas inside the temple literally fleece the tourists with money which is big disappointment .Hope temple management will look in to this problem and sort out this major issue... More

I had to gone to this temple after a span of 9yrs and there is vast improvement in terms of the crowd and the queue in the temple. Had a awesome darshan.

Just say no if anyone asks for a fee. There are are some helpful priests who will show non-hindus around and just ask for a donation. You may want to turn down the offer of seeing a goat beheaded.

This is not what a temple is supposed to be like. If one wants to enjoy the feeling of a real temple experience, please avoid this place at all cost and go to Birla Temple or Dakshineshwar Temple instead. My mom and I were highly disappointed by this place and I have the feeling that the area must have deteriorated... More

During my year trip to Kolkata, got to visit Kalighat Kali temple along with my parents. The temple belongs to one of the 55 Shakthi peethas, the most powerful Kali temple.
