Nice to see historical buildings, but very poorly maintained. Some restaurants but none worth going to. I only recommend this place because it is close to the Artesanato de Pernambuco.

This is the zero mark for the state of Pernambuco from which all distances are measured in the state. It is a large brass plaque in the pavement of the square. Interesting if you are into geographic facts. The square is on the water with a great view of the sculpture park and some beautiful historic buildings adjacent.

Recife city logo is just located in the Square. You can take water taxi 5RS/person with round trip to Sculpture Park at the other side of bank. Pay a little attention the take photo in the square. Have a great time.

That's a beautiful place, historical and important for Recife's citizen. But also dusty and carelessness with old and abandoned buildings.

Interesting place to visit as the point from which all distances in Pernambuco are measured. Historically significant and in a glorious city square surrounded by the old buildings of ancient Recife. Excellent restaurants close by with good choice from coffee shops to seafood specialists. Would recommend a visit

The área called Marco Zero is diversified and walkable with a lovely view. The good: many cultural activites and memorable museums like the Frevo Palace, Arsenal Plaza, Rural Culture Museum, the Bank Caixa Economica expositions and shows, the Folk Art Center and along the port many restaurants and areas to relax. The bad: on the other side of Marco Zero there... More

Marco Zero means initial point, that is where the city was born. Place is full of history and good restaurants. Walk around and you are going to be in a more than 400 hundred year old buildings.

Starting from here you can go visit almost all the old Recife buildings by foot. To do that you will need aprox one day, having in mind you go visit some of the museum as well. Would recommend this on days when the weather is not that good and you don't feel like going to the beach.
