Great walk

We walked almost to tip well over a mile. Dogs not allowed so ours had to sit in car. No place to go to bathroom was huge issue. We found bunch shells. Beautiful scenery... read more

Soft white sand that goes on for miles and the sunsets are breathtaking. This place is a must to visit!

The beach was black sand and very littered. The parking lot stayed full on the weekends. It is only maybe 100 feet from the bay and the beach is much nicer there.

Plenty of free parking, the beach is beautiful white sand and plenty of seashells. It is kept clean, and the waves were perfect for the kids playing. Gorgeous sunset finished the evening perfectly.

I am a beach lover and have been to many. The pros: quiet, uncrowded. The negative: flat, lots of standing water, lots of bugs, not a pretty color. Dauphin Island is cool because it is like stepping back in time, but I really prefer a prettier beach and definitely less buggy. I was eaten up! In September it was HOT... More

We loved Dauphin Island Public Beach, but it was a long way from the end of the Pier, across the dunes to the water. Surprised us, but made for a great walk. Enjoy!

After you walk forever on a Fishing Pier that doesn't have any water around it you would have to walk forever through the sand to get to the beach. Not worth the trip.

A long walk thru the sand to the water's edge yet never overcrowded. Nice park with covered picnic tables and public restrooms.

The beaches in October are not crowed at all so even the public beach feels private. We stayed at one of the condos that had its own private beach access, but when out and about we did visit the public sites just to see. The sand is soft, and white, bring that it is the gulf some trash does wash... More
