I drove from Michigan, stayed overnight to get to refuge on Feb. 16th, at 7 am when the sun comes up. We went to the office. There were Brochures at the door stating the office opened at 8:00. We could not find the auto drive...More

While we didn't see much in the way of animals, we did see some hawks and birds. I think we would have seen more wildlife had we gone early or at dusk. We went in the middle of the afternoon so everything was getting away...More

Started at the visitors center, talked with a great ranger. Drove the loop road and saw very little signs of wildlife. A few vultures, a heron, a snake, a few deer and that's about it. Lots of biting flies. Keep your windows closed.

Visited to walk through, get some exercise and to hopefully see the eagles. Was not disappointed. Not only did I see two eagles but was able to see several osprey, red headed woodpeckers, loons, mallards, Canadian geese, and several alligators. All in all a positive...More

We picked up a map of the wildlife drive at the visitor center. There are many different types of land which attracts lots of different birds. There are woodlands, old fields, grasslands, open water and marshland. There are places to stop and get out. Don't...More

My husband and I were fortunate enough to live a few miles down the road. We took our dogs for a ride through there every day. Saw some of the neatest birds and animals. Wood storks, bald eagles, Bobcats, alligators and wild boar with babies....More
