The Reserve has an improved walkway through (and above) the bog leading to Weeks Bay. You can see first hand, the animals that depend on this beautiful forest. There are birds, squirrels and even reptiles you can observe while enjoying the shaded walkway.

Weeks Bay is simply awesome! The reserve area adjacent to Fish River offers many free activities including fishing (from the bank or pier), hiking and educational activities. I highly recommend Weeks Bay for folks with interest in our eco-system or with families with young children....More

Plenty of places to fish without a boat. Seldom crowded. Grab a rod and reel a little bit of bait and maybe a chair and enjoy a little bank fishing. If the fish ain't biting, you don't have to worry about cleaning them.

The visitor centre is very interesting and the "custodian" there was very informative and enthusiastic. It would be a great place for younger kids to learn about Alabama wildlife. Very peaceful trails and you need to go down the road to visit the Pitcher Plant...More

Hubs and I visited Weeks Bay for an afternoon. Nice boardwalk makes it easy to access the estuary, where the fresh waters feed into Mobile Bay. The ecosystem was interesting, the small visitor center has displays of local wildlife fossils and live animal life, and...More

It was offseason but we stopped to see picher plants and have a nice walk on the boardwalk. While sitting at the river we got an unexpected close-up view of a family of dolfins swimming up river, fishing and playing, even little ones!

This is a very interesting place to take a nature walk, or two, but make sure you take time to visit the classroom! The boardwalks take you through the wet lands area and if you drive a short distance you can take the pitcher plant...More
