Overview
More
The U.S. Army Aviation Museum maintains a collection of over 160 military aircraft, including one of the largest collections of military helicopters in the world. Approximately 50 beautifully restored, historic and one-of-a-kind aircraft, are proudly displayed both inside the Museum's 70,000 square feet of exhibit space and outside on the Museum's grounds. The collection includes many significant examples of early research efforts and developments in rotary wing technology and the evolution of the helicopter. Our public galleries represent the Army's involvement in military aviation from the beginning days with the Wright brothers and the early combat aircraft of World War I, up to the highly technological machines such as the AH-64 Apache and the UH-60 Blackhawk flown by Army Aviators today.

My husband & I toured the museum with a close friend. The museum is great, and we were told several stories. My husband was there in the early days, 1964 - 1969. Thankfully before I met him. The only thing I think is ridiculous is...More

This is one of the better museums at an Army post. Elaborate displays and lots of great info presented on the displays. The items at the museum are a bit pricey and I wish it would offer easier access for folks without military ID. Nonetheless,...More

Take it from a history buff and Army Aviator; one of the best museums I’ve seen and well worth the visit. And it’s free!

This museum met and exceeded expectations for an army museum. It had many aircrafts set up to look at and see how the craft adapted to new science.

What a great museum to see aviation from way back when! THIS is a must for anyone traveling through or living in the area. Thoroughly enjoyed seeing the old "choppers" and airplanes. Good history, well displayed with the history of each flying vessel!

Just inside the Daleville Gate on the left you will find this museum. It is wall-to-wall filled with static displays of fixed-and rotary-winged aircraft. Many more larger aircraft are on the grounds around the museum. Any aviation enthusiast or history buff will certainly enjoy a...More
