We really enjoy camping at Monte Sano State Park. It's quiet and has some great hiking trails. Unfortunately there's not any lakes or ponds to fish in.

Toddlers can enjoy the swing, and multiple slides of all sizes at this park. The walking trails are well marked, but very slick with morning dew and the fall leaves on the trails. If your toddler won’t walk very far I’d suggest either carrying him...More

This park does have an admission charge per car unlike many Alabama State Parks. They have many hiking trails, a large gathering /picnic area, camping, astronomy, and disc golf. A great visit.

Just attended a wedding for family at this place. The build and area surrounding it was gorgeous. Great for a small or medium gathering.

The state park is a great place to run and mountain bike. Lots of trails of varying difficulty. There is something great for everyone. Like to camp here and get up for an early morning run.
