Everything it says - journey into the intimacy of a wealthy family. Good anecdotes from the guide. Slight unease at the thought that someone could do this in my home (not wealthy, I hasten to specify) and gawp at what I consider (a) personal and (b) unexceptionally normal. But then, they charge, I paid, so it's all ok.

I've just done a guided tour in English. No need to book for small groups or individuals, just turn up. Shirley was our wonderful guide, very knowledgeable, great sense of humour. The house is stunning with lots of original artefacts. I feel I have a much better grasp of Nyonya history and its relationship with Chinese culture. A must visit... More

A fascinating story How a family mixed from different cultures has grown over 7 generations. Exciting if the 7th generation will succeed to keep up the traditions.

Took a self-guided tour through the museum. It is very well organized and preserved. We learned a lot about the Malaysian Strait lifestyle and history. Well worth the small entrance fee.

This place is located just near my hotel and it's worth visiting. Most of the antiques are originally in the building since the house is built and they are well preserved.

I have visited this museum several times over 15 years, with foreign friends visiting Malacca. I still find it fascinating. Top marks to Christina who was our guide during our latest visit this week, for her friendliness, knowledge and humour.

Apart from tasting the local food in Malaka, I found the visit to this museum is very interesting to understand the history and unique culture of Baba & Nyonya in Malaka. It gives us a good picture of understanding at one spot. Besides, the restorations of those buildings along the street are also very beautiful. You may try to stay... More
