This is a fun place to stroll and try different restaurants and people watch. There seems to be a lot of activity and you feel like you are visiting all walks of life. We enjoyed it.

It's right next to the public library. There is only one entrance and it closes at 4pm. It's a beautiful, small, old cemetery. If you are out for a stroll, stop by and take in the history of Mobile.

This is an interesting cemetary to visit as the graves are from the 1700-1800's. However, the neglect of the grounds is very sad. The only graves that appear to have any upkeep attention are the ones for Joe Cain and his wife. The City of...More

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful stroll through this walkable, quiet neighborhood of beautiful and historic homes. Love that the historic preservation folks have identified so many homes and their histories.

Such a beautiful area. Takes you back in time to beautiful simplier times. The houses with the sheilds are over 75 years old and kept historically correct. The sheild is given once a year by the historical society. Just beautiful and serene.

Ran up and down Government Street (and Dauphin for that matter). Oakleigh Garden District and Church Street Historic District are wonderful little finds off of the beaten path. Plan to take you time and enjoy the view of both.

My family went to Mobile for the day. I looked up the things to do and this was one of them. A previous reviewer mentioned the homeless so I knew to be aware. We found the cemetery by chance and parked in the library parking...More

I didn't know that was the case. This district is pretty large and to walk it, especially in the summer heat and humidity, would be challenging. I would suggest one drive from site to site within the district (e.g. After... More
