Most beautiful Confederate Memorial ; very intricate. Disappointed the flags are not a part of it. Montgomery is a beautiful city. The city is an excellent example of not only preserving their Civil War history but also supporting their Civil Rights history. Preservation of history...More

The most striking Confederate memorial column this reviewer has ever seen in the south. The tribute to all of the lost soldiers and sailors is stunningly beautiful, with rich carvings and figures. Stop and see this part of history while you still can.

The statue is very tall and the work on the statue is very intricate and astounding. It pays tribute to the soldiers and sailors of the Confederate States. If you love American history, take time to see this beautiful statue.

We stoped here and the capital because we wanted something to do before the ride home . The monuments are nice -some at the capital may need a little maintenance. It was enjoyable . We had to pay to park .

The craftsmanship it took to create this thing is unreal. there are at least four "faces" to the monument and each one is as intricately carved and assembled as the other. Also an easy stop and look attraction in Montgomery. Right outside the Capitol.

OK as monuments go, one better hurry before it is removed along with all other history of the Confederate States of America. One of the better monuments to Confederate Soldiers throughout the South.

To take something down is to remove our history, whether you like it or not, good or bad, it's our history!!!

It saddens me to read the simplistic opinions of prejudiced people regarding this memorial. We were here today on a field trip for 4th graders and it was a great catalyst for discussion about men from another time who felt protective of their homes and...More
