It was ok. The owners were friendly and the staff was as well. The lodge reminded me of something out of "Gone with the wind" and the village sort of reminded me of the town of Steppford. The age of the building sort of disappointed me because it has sort of a historic sort of look to but it was... More

This is a wonderful place to have dinner for two or up to four people. You can rent a cabin/house and stay. They have a message therapist for relaxation and a beautiful view from the bluff. You can eat, sleep, ride bikes, or hike. It is a great place to just get away from everything. Just wait and watch the... More

Hidden away in the country, a historic-style inn and rental cottages that are charming, relaxing, low-key and FABULOUS for a vacation for a couple, group, family or reunion. Food is absolutely wonderful, if a bit repetitive. There were a few choices for your breakfast and dinner selections. Dry county, so bring your own alcoholic beverages. Highly, highly recommended. We sat... More

My wife and I just returned from a two day stay at the Lodge for my surprise Birthday. This was a wonderful trip and I give a high recommendation. Some people will find fault with the Lodge and Cottages but those are the people that need a stay here the most. Firstly, you can say this is "Rural Alabama". A... More

My wife and I had an amazing time in Gotham's Bluff. While originally planning to stay in a cabin in Mentone - We ran across a Cottage for rent in this beautiful secluded neighborhood near the lodge. We had never heard of this area, but the reviews were stellar and it looked great! We couldn't have been more pleased and... More

In a word, FABULOUS! We REALLY loved it here, even though it was really windy & rainy during our stay (the tail end of Hurricane Patricia apparently). We stayed in the KING room, with amazing views of the Tenessee river and a open fire place (lit by a remote control!). Very large bedroom, super comfortable bed, slept very VERY well... More

The views from the lodge and and the property at Gorham's Bluff are great, but the property itself is in DIRE need of repair and maintenance. Pressure washing and painting are badly needed

This isn't really an attraction. It is a planned community that never really got off the ground. Only a handful homes were actually built in the community. There is no downtown or main street area. I think there used to be concerts and shows but those appear to be few and far between. Some of the buildings are shabby and... More

In my opnion this place is a wanna be 5 star Inn. The owner is a rude know it all and needs an attitude adjustment. They are also money hungry people who will steal your money with a smile on their face.

We were given this trip as a gift and it was very nice and a big change from what we were used to. Great food and a great evening. Proud we got it as a gift because we could not afford to have went otherwise
