Old steel truss bridge at the north end of the Bund walkway, between the Broadway Mansions Hotel and the Russian consulate. The bridge is beautifully lighted at night.

At the northern end of the Bund, Waibaidu Bridge (as the Garden Bridge is otherwise known) is one of the landmarks of the old city of Shanghai, and spans the Suzhou Creek at the point it joins the Huangpu River. It's worth crossing the creek...More

Brilliantly lit at night, accentuating the raw structural steel members of the structure, this old bridge was an unexpected find in the Bund area, amongst all the more modern and iconic buildings. Well preserved, it was a great example of synthesizing the old and the...More

Anyone interested in engineering will love this structure. The twin arch steel trusses and rivets will fascinate engineering students and those who love mechanical puzzles. Also offers a great vantage points for selfies with the bund and monument in the background.

The bridge looks quite ordinary by day and with all the traffic crossing over it, it looks quite mundane. The backdrop of Astor House and the Russian Consulate make it more impressive on the end of the Bund overlooking the Huangpu River. I've seen it...More

So this bridge which is located at the end of the Bund is unique because last time the Chinese were not allowed to walk here - it is a form of racism during the time of the Opium War. This place was refurbished two times...More
