The riverside walk along the Bund may be busy and crowded during the day, but with good reason - it's simply a must when in Shanghai for people-watching and getting a good feel for the city.

Althought the river is quite durty, the water is brown and you see lots of rubish at the sides, the views to the city are great and you forget all the rest.

First stop after arriving in Shanghai on SNA tour. Beautifully maintained area with fabulous views across to the Bund side - we never actually went there so missed the opportunity of visiting a cafe or restaurant and being immersed in the buzz of modern China....More

The buildings along both sides of the Huangpu River in the center of Shanghai, i.e. The Bund and the Fincancial District compete for attention with bright and often creative lighting every night. A simple walk along the Promenade is an excellent way to take it...More

Went here in the afternoon and there were several weddings being held on the river cruise boats. Lots of families with children walking along the river. There are a few snack/drink carts along the river.

Is this not the same event as the Shanghai Circus World? If it is different, how can I get an advance reservation or an online ticket booking? Thanks.

The two things are completely different. The promenade is a nice place for a stroll or walk. Just have a nice time taking in the sights and enjoying the view.
