The riverside walk along the Bund may be busy and crowded during the day, but with good reason - it's simply a must when in Shanghai for people-watching and getting a good feel for the city.

This is a great place to visit at night. It is dead-easy to get there with all the metro stations in close proximity. You can take a ferry across the river.. great fun for kids!

The day we walked the promenade the "smog" was particularly bad. All the buildings in the distance were hazed in this "mist" according to our guide? The day after everything cleared in Shanghai so the view you get can depend on when you go. A...More

You can see a lot of picture about the Bund, but the most people there are tourists. I'd like to take my friends here, it also has a great view in the night, but with local people enjoy their everyday life.

The two things are completely different. The promenade is a nice place for a stroll or walk. Just have a nice time taking in the sights and enjoying the view.
