The title says it all. We already saw a lot of other beautiful gardens in China, so I guess we were spoiled a little bit. But then again, those weren't free and this one was, and it wasn't that crowded. So good enough!

Good place to walk around and get away from the city life for an hour or so. The garden itself is not particularly amazing but good to walk around. On Sunday morning, elderly locals seem to meet around here to do a jog, yoga or...More

Beautiful park where a lot of retirees spend their day. There are many people learning how to dance from ballroom to swing, play musical instruments, playing cards/games, sports like badminton, and tai chi. It is a quiet and peaceful park even with all these things...More

Waking up early (thanks, jet lag!) we went for a walk and wandered into this park. It is a beautiful park, with many different features, including a classically laid out garden and a pond filled with lotus flowers. What made it special for us was...More

The main entrance is visually relaxing. This park has plenty of places to spread a blanket and enjoy. However, in comparison with the many other parks of Shanghai, it just doesn't have as much to offer in terms of variety, hidden areas, botanical designs, etc.

It's not worth travelling through town for, but it's a nice spot and it's located in the Former French Concession, a classic tourist destination. I suggest taking a break at Fuxing Park when you're in the area and are tired from shopping and sightseeing. You...More

This park is great for a walk and is right in the middle of Shanghai. Lots of space and there were people there all day.

This park, in the French Concession, is a popular people place. Apart from the horticultural delights, you can enjoy karaoke, dancing, kite flying, a picnic, snacks and a kids’ amusement section. The huge statues of the 19th century Marxist philosophers ironically overlook this overtly free...More

The flowers were beautiful and it was interesting to see locals involved in everyday activities. We had a tasty juice drink at the cafe just inside the entrance adjacent to the rose garden. The drink was celery, coriander, kiwi and mint. We walked the entire...More

Former French Concession
While there are technical borders to the area formerly
governed by the French in Shanghai, the "French
Concession" of today is an amorphous neighborhood that
is a favorite of the city's foreign residents. While
it is mostly within the Xuhui district, residents will
sometimes include parts of Jing'an and Luwan in their
mental maps of the Former French Concession. The area
seems frozen in time, characterized by quiet,
