"Pudong, in its 13-year history, has surprisingly progressed in its economic strength and its urban development. This 556-sqaure-kilometer farmland 13 years ago is well on its way toward a modern metropolis. As the epitome of Shanghai' modernization and the symbol of China's reform and opening up drive, Pudong has become an ideal land for global investors." http://pudong.shanghaichina.org/jiangsx.htm

This district is the most modern and vibrant area of Shanghai including the new Shanghai Disneyland. The air is significantly better as you get closer to the ocean.

Recent visit to the Pearl tower. A little expensive but if you want a really good overview of the city and many family options, well worth half a day to see Shanghai from above.

I would say that this part didn't belong to China. Absolutely perfect planning, road network, walking area, eateries and more and all designed to keep you at the absolute comfort. We stayed here and it was just spot on. Felt very relaxed and enjoyed

A must see place in Shanghai. Symbol of Shanghai's economic growth and development. During chinese national day holidays and spring festival it is the most crowded place in Shanghai.

I like it here but its too modernised and its a shame to see China disappearing into this modernised world. I like the Nihao and xie xie...i like fumbling around with chopsticks but I was struggling to find anything chinese food wise... too many westernised...More

Less touristy than the opposite side of the river, this new part of Shanghai is growing all the time. A new, amazing skyscraper appears every few months. Great to explore stunning new buildings up close, but you get the best views from the opposite side...More

There is nothing more exciting than visiting Pudong for the first time! The "new" area with all the high-rise, modern towers is just spectacular and I've never seen anything like it before or since. There are several ways to choose from to go there -...More

Shanghai was truly magical. During the visit it rained all the day. It was quite a foggy day and views weren't clear at all. I would've enjoyed much if it was a sunny day instead.

Shanghai residents see Pudong’s suburbs as the place
that grown-ups retreat to when they’re ready to settle
down and stop living in the cramped confines of a
refurbished lanehouse. The areas around Century Park
are some of the most desirable as they are in close
proximity to the Metro Lines, granting easy access to
the heart of Puxi. The park itself is a huge draw,
it’s one of Shanghai’s biggest and there are sports
