"Pudong, in its 13-year history, has surprisingly progressed in its economic strength and its urban development. This 556-sqaure-kilometer farmland 13 years ago is well on its way toward a modern metropolis. As the epitome of Shanghai' modernization and the symbol of China's reform and opening up drive, Pudong has become an ideal land for global investors." http://pudong.shanghaichina.org/jiangsx.htm

This whole area is for the tourists, lots of stall doing the same thing - print you photo on a Tee Shirt. THe view is good as long as you can see the top of the towers - mostly foggy

This whole area is larger than life, you wander amongst magnificent huge beautiful buildings. The spaces for people to walk are beautiful. I am so impressed by the urban design of how people and traffic function harmoniously. It's amazing !!!!

Pudong viewed from The Bund. This is a memorable, Iconic view featuring the Pearl Tower and truly spectacular when lit up after dark. The Pudong area itself is definitely worth a visit. Restaurants along the Huangpu River's edge, the majestic modern buildings and the interesting...More

Clean, bright, new area with tons of skyscrapers. Went to the top of Shanghai Tower, which was very cool. If you want a less crowded view of The Bund along the river, this is a great place to stroll. They have newly done bike and...More

Not as impressive as The Bund, but still very touristy. Worth driving through the area in one of the tour busses or coming there on a ferry from the riverside promenade.

One look around and you will see how fast china has progressed over the years. To see how developed the country is, one simply have to look at the buildings! Very impressive indeed!

As we made our way around Shanghai the Pudong New Area had the most impressive skyline. With the air quality, viewing was a bit limited. We did not find a whole lot other than the skyline.

It was a cloudy day so I wonder if that is why it wasn't so impressive? I couldn't understand the hype to be honest. However, driving along the highway to get from Bund to Pudong was awesome.

Visited the "needle" radio tower and was thoroughly impressed. As we rode up the elevator, a guide gave a brief rundown of the building and its structure. The observation deck was marvelous and provided views of the city that are unsurpassed. At one section there...More

Shanghai residents see Pudong’s suburbs as the place
that grown-ups retreat to when they’re ready to settle
down and stop living in the cramped confines of a
refurbished lanehouse. The areas around Century Park
are some of the most desirable as they are in close
proximity to the Metro Lines, granting easy access to
the heart of Puxi. The park itself is a huge draw,
it’s one of Shanghai’s biggest and there are sports
