Biked along the lake

On a sunny day it offers beautiful views of lake. We never saw the vulcano as there were lots of clouds. Still worthwhile trip

We took a 2 hour kayaking tour and it was worthwhile! The lake is just beautiful, surrounded by rain forrest. An interesting fact is that about 42% of the country's energy is produced in the lake's damn.

We took a boat trip across the lake and it was a lovely way to see the volcano and all the wildlife surrounding the area including monkeys and many species of birds. Is a large lake with beautiful views.

I enjoyed sitting peacefully on one of the evevated bluffs around the shore, taking in... More

I enjoyed the kayak trip. But you need to know that it's rainy for 10 month of the year so the odds are you aren't going to get a view of the volcano. And you are going to be soaked through. However, paddling along the lake was good fun and I found it relaxing.

An incredible view, make sure you take a boat ride. Well worth it. It is very close to hanging bridges and you can go on a SUP (stand-up paddle board)

To travel to Monteverde from La Fortuna, we took a pontoon boat across. It was very clean and beautiful. The boat captain did an excellent job of pointing out birds and making the trip peaceful.
