At Arenal Natura Ecological Park you will experience the natural world in a whole new way, where beautiful frogs, birds, reptiles, and their natural habitats will have the starring role. Arenal Natura is a private Biological Station, where we are concerned at the conservation of habitats, as well as reserach and reproduction of amphibians and reptiles, many of these listed as endangered species by CITES. We are located in a section of the tropical rainforest, at the base of the Arenal Volcano, home to a large quantity of species which, with the help of our guides, will give you a new way to view and enjoy these impressive, complex worlds.

This is a nice park to see the Costa Rica frogs, snakes, butterflies. The guide was excellent, explained a lot about each of the frogs and snakes etc. Took a lot of interest in us as guests. The butterfly house is still developing, there are better butterfly houses, but still worth a look.

We stopped in on a whim and had a great visit. Officially they were not quite doing guides tours at that hour, but fellow at the desk asked one of the guides to take us in and we had a terrific time. Alex, our guide, was tremendously knowledgeable and so enthusiastic as he showed us around -- felt like we... More

Wonderful views, well worth the climb up. We were lucky as the clouds were high and we saw the volcano in it's entirety.

Took a family outing here. The butterflies were fascinating, such a large amount of butterflies and variety of species. The lady was so nice and gave us much good information. The other displays were also interesting. Since we had grandparents along and they were tired we didn't walk all the trails.

Our tour guide Miguel was very knowledgable and had some great stories to share. Great way to see tree frogs, other frog species, snakes, rescue turtles, crocodiles and caimans. The butterfly garden was absolutely amazing!! We even saw a sloth and her baby.

We took an early morning tour mainly to see birds. I think we saw 10 in 3 hours and 4 of those were ducklings. For $114 it was a complete rip off. They were building a new butterfly house and the builders started early. The guide Miguel was fine but even he couldn't magic up birds in the noise. At... More

Our guide, Emmanuel, made this tour fun and educational. He actually extended the tour an extra half hour to be sure all questions were answered. Loved that the money is used to help retrain animals for release or life long habitation for injured animals.
